Fox Meadow Hausti Solstafir
I started my life with Icelandic Sheepdogs after my American Eskimo passed in 2007, and I was
researching Spitz types, contemplating my next breed. It seemed the more I read, the more I felt
drawn to them, and it seemed that this could be the perfect dog for me, and my home. Upon my first
meeting with a group of these wonderful dogs, where I found myself rolling on the floor in a furry
swirl of enthusiastic kisses, I knew I was in love with these rare gems of the canine world.

My kennel, Whitetail Icelandics, currently has three boys - AKC GCH Fox Meadow Hausti Solstafir,
AKC CH / UKC GCH Fox Meadow Thorra Kari, and the youngster UKC CH Solsteinn Keisari at Whitetail.

Solstafir has a clean CERF, and his hips have been rated PennHIP "Excellent" (LDI .32 /RDI.35), and
preliminary OFA "Good".  He also has been OFA certified for full dentition.  These scores are publicly
recorded - please click the link to see health information and pedigree.

Solstafir was the very first Icelandic Sheepdog to enter an AKC ring, as a fully accepted breed,
earning a best 6 -9 month puppy placement. He earned his AKC CH just after he turned two years
old, in 2011. He then completed both his AKC GCH and UKC GCH in the same week, in 2012. He was
ranked the #5 AKC Icelandic, and the #2 UKC Icelandic for 2012.  In both 2011, and 2012, Solstafir
was selected Best of Breed at the Kennel Club of Philadelphia's National Dog Show and appeared on
NBC's televised broadcast On Thanksgiving Day both years.  Solstafir earned his AKC championship,
and his AKC Grand championship completely owner handled.

Fox Meadow Thorra Kari (call name Vetur) brings a wonderful flashy attitude to the show ring, that
beckons to the judges. He was awarded his first AKC major at 11 months old, his second AKC major
at 18 months, and completed his AKC Championship shortly after turning 2 years old.  He earned his
UKC CH at 14 months, and then was awarded a UKC Reserve Best In Show at 15 months. He was the
#3 UKC Icelandic for 2012, and he completed his UKC Grand Championship in April of 2013.

Kari’s hips are certified as OFA Excellent, and PennHIP .33 / .36 .  His eyes are tested normal, and
he also has been OFA certified for full dentition.  He is now available for stud.

Keisari is currently a puppy, and has begun to find success in the conformation ring. He completed
his UKC Championship title in his very first weekend of 4 UKC shows, and is now working towards his
UKC Grand Championship.  Keisari is AKC pointed, and is working toward his AKC Championship.  We
have high hopes for him, as his handling classes are going well.

As a stud dog owner, I feel an obligation to help insure no Icelandic Sheepdog ever spends time in an
animal shelter. I am very happy to support the efforts of NISRA, to make this happen.
