Viking Icelandics
Elisabet Stacy-Hurley "Liz" and husband Robert Hurley are the founding members of the
Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America, AKC parent club for the breed.   Liz's mother, a
native Icelander used to tell her stories about the very special dogs from her youth.  When
returning to Iceland years later her cousin, Johanna Hardardottir, an Icelandic Sheepdog
breeder,  encouraged Liz return home with Asa/Hleseyjar Grima.    Grima inspired Liz to help
form the Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America.  Their devotion to the breed has
brought dozens of enthusiastic owners together in support of these wonderful dogs.  They
generously have been mentoring them and have been helping the public to understand these
unique and delightful dogs.

Liz is offering Viking Koko for stud and has occasional litters available
Asa- Hleseyjar Grima  sadly passed away in February of 2011 just days before the Icelandic Sheepdog made its
debut at the Westminster kennel Club dog show.  It was Liz's dream that one day  the Icelandic Sheepdog would
one day compete in this prestigious show.  The Icelandic Sheepdog community in the USA was greatly saddened
that Grima could not be at Liz's side to celebrate the breeds achievements.
